Operation Stand Down: Help for the homeless kicks off today

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Today, the Shreveport Chapter of the Salvation Army and the Veterans Affairs hospital team up for their 17th annual 'Operation Stand Down."

At the time of year when the temperatures begin to drop across the Ark-La-Tex, doors are opened for the areas homeless. Anyone who is homeless is welcome to get food and clothing at First United Methodist Church, located in downtown Shreveport.

The doors of the church will open at 8:00 a.m.
