MoJo's sponsors 'Throw Me a Bone' dog park fundraiser

MoJo's Nightclub in downtown Shreveport is the site of an on-going effort to keep the Shreveport dog park effort alive.

The Shreveport Dog Park Alliance is holdng a "Throw Me a Bone" fundraiser at MoJo's starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8. Donations at the door will go to the Dog Park Alliance.

‘Stars, Guitars & Animals from Mars’ to reign at pet parade

Thousands of pets and their owners, dressed in their Mardi Gras finest, are expected to converge on Shreveport’s downtown riverfront for the annual Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Pet Parade on Sunday, Feb. 3 at RiverView Park, 601 Clyde Fant Parkway.

Activities begin at 1:30 p.m. and the parade starts at 3 p.m. This year’s theme is “Stars, Guitars & Animals from Mars.” Prizes will be awarded for Best Float, Pet/Owner Look-A-Like and Best Dressed contests, with judging from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The royal court of pets will be presented at 2:30 p.m.

Robinson's offers vouchers for neuter services

Robinson's Rescue is offering qualified residents vouchers for free spay and neuter services as well as for half-price surgery.

Robinson's will give out the vouchers during workshops at local libraries during October and November.

No-kill shelter hosting open house for the first time

The Humane Society of NW Louisiana will open its doors to the public for the first time from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 29. The shelter is located at 2544 Linwood Ave., across from the old Chevyland dealership.

Lost dog sought in Cedar Grove

A Central Shreveport woman hopes you can help her find her lost dog.

Bernice Samuel believes her 2-year-old chihuahua/pit-mix dog Tiger was stolen on May 30th. She lives in the Cedar Grove area of Shreveport. She is offering a reward for his return. Call 861-1767 if you can help.
