SPAR sets up 'Santa Express' mail service

For the fifth year, Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation has joined Santa Claus of the North Pole to help kids get their letters to the big guy directly.

The "Santa Express" mail service is available from November 19 through December 17 to take area children's letters directly to Santa.

Caddo judge named CASA Judge of the Year

The Honorable Shonda D. Stone was awarded Court Appointed Special Advocates Judge of the Year for the State of Louisiana at the annual CASA "Together We Can" Conference in Lafayette.

Judge Stone serves as Caddo Parish Juvenile Court Judge and presides over delinquency, status offenses, abuse and neglect, child support, and adoption matters.

Shreveport/Bossier Angel Tree registration has begun

Lower-income parents or guardians who need help with Christmas presents can now sign up for the Shreveport-Bossier Salvation Army's Angel Tree program.

Angel Tree is for children 12-years-old or younger. Registration for the program will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during the rest of October. Folks can sign up at the Salvation Army's headquarters, located at 200 E. Stoner Ave. in Shreveport.

To get on the Angel Tree list, the following information must be brought to the registration:
