BAC's East Bank Gallery features Drék Davis

The Bossier Arts Council East Bank Gallery is thrilled to announce an exhibition of artwork by regional artist Drék Davis. This show will run throughout the month of April with a reception from 3 to 6 p.m. on April 13.

Davis' show "Idle Warship 3.0" is a focused juxtaposition of Yorùbá and Voudun deities against common secular and sacred phrases/imagery associated with Christianity, Pop culture, and Art history.

SPAR's Airport Park Center to offer youth martial arts classes

Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation (SPAR) Airport Park Community Center has scheduled martial arts classes for youth at the center.  The martial arts class is taught by Sensei Lance Williams of the Way of the Warrior Martial Arts Academy, who will teach Taekwondo, Kick Boxing, Kajukenbo and Self Defense.

The classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for Little Tigers (ages 3-5) and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for Iron Tigers (ages 6 & up).  The cost of the class is $20.00 monthly.  The center is located at 6500 Kennedy Drive.
