SPAR center to honor Caddo commissioner

Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation's Chris Hays Community Center, along with the Chris Hays Park Advisory Council, will hold an honorarium to recognize public service by Caddo Parish District 7 Commissioner Stephanie Lynch.

The honorarium is set for Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. until noon at the center at 4300 Illinois Ave.

Lynch has served on the Commission for over 8 years.
She has served as President of the Commission. All who would like to help recognize and celebrate a committed public servant are invited to attend.

Special guest keynote speaker is Caddo Parish School Board Member Lillian Priest. Refreshments will be served.

Commissioner Lynch serves in many leadership capacities at the national, state, and local level. She is an active member of the National Association of Counties (NACo), the membership organization of America’s 3,068 counties. She serves on the leadership team of NACo President, Chris Rodgers, as Chair of Programs and Services, and member of the Large Urban County Caucus, Next Generation NACo and the Green
Government Advisory Committee.

Commissioner Lynch also serves as the President of the National Association of Black County Officials, the
largest membership organization of representing black elected officials. Locally, she serves as President of the Caddo Parish Democratic Party Executive Committee and has served as a neighborhood association president, community mediator, auxiliary police officer, 4-H team leader, Girl Scout troop leader, education grants evaluator, and in numerous other positions in community, civic, and business
organizations.
