Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR) Save The Children Youth Community Choir proudly presents its Musical Debut on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 6:30pm at Valencia Park Community Center, located at 1800 Viking Drive. The choir is under the direction of Fred Smith, Jr. and Kimberly Bell.

Also performing in the musical will be the Oakmont Praise Choir and soloist Sandra Holmes. The general public is encouraged to attend in support of the youth and their positive contributions. Admission is free.

Rehearsals for the youth choir are held each Friday, from 6:30 - 7:30pm, at Querbes Community Center, 3500 Beverly Place. All interested youth, ages 6 – 17, are highly encouraged to join the choir. Other volunteers are currently sought, including those who can play keyboard, drums, or the guitar. The purpose and mission of this choir is to help save our youth from the negative influences of the streets by infusing them with positive values through music. This will encourage, help develop, nurture, and teach them to enjoy and love music for a life time through singing.

If interested in becoming a youth choir member or for more information, call Querbes Community Center at 318.673.7818.
