Police looking for help in string of nightclub burglaries

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport detectives are looking into more than a half-dozen bar burglaries since the first of July.

Police have responded to seven different nightclub burglaries since July 1. Nightclubs victimized are located in the 1900 block of North Market Street, the 3100 block of North Market Street, the 1300 block of Centenary Boulevard, the 1300 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway, the 600 block of East Kings Highway, and the 1000 block of Marshall Street.

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport Police are asking for you help finding a woman who has not been seen for several months.

44-year-old Lisa Diane Bolden was reported missing by family members on June 24. Prior to that, family members told police they had not heard or seen Bolden in several months and she was last seen with an unknown man.

Shreveport to get $1.2M to help rehab public housing

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KSLA) – More than a million dollars is coming to Shreveport to help with the city's public housing needs.

The money is part the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Capital Fund Program. A total of $45.4M will go to more than 100 public housing authorities across the state.

SPAR midnight basketball league begins playoffs

The Summer Midnight Basketball League for girls, boys and young adults is offering free admission to playoff games beginning Monday, and encourages the public to attend.

The playoffs run from Monday, July 18, Tuesday, andThursday with the Champion games on Saturday, 23.

Monday the games will be held at at 7:00 p.m. at both the Southern Hills Community Center and Airport Park Community Center. Tuesday the will be held at Airport Park Community Center and A.B. Palmer Community Center. Thursday’s games will be held at the A.B.

Guy's Academy in the Shreve City Shopping Center will have its 3rd Annual Free Haircuts for school-age children in grades K-12. The free haircuts will be on August 2, 3 & 4 and on August 9, 10, & 11. Also from August 2-31, anyone who donates unopened school supplies will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate (1 entry per visit).
